The University Of Gloucestershire All Golds are the only professional Rugby League Club in the South West of England and have a thriving community development department who have been coaching in Cheltenham schools as part of the Rugby Football League's "Sky Try" programme this year. We will be running 7 weeks of coaching this summer, for 8-11 year olds, that will be a pilot ahead of launching a brand new junior Rugby League club in 2016.
Details of the club are below……
· Venue – University of Gloucestershire Park Campus, The Park, Cheltenham, GL50 2RH
· Coaching Dates – Every Wednesday from 12 August – 2 September
· Time – 18.00 – 19.15
· Ages – Under 9s (Years 3 & 4) and Under 11s (Years 5 & 6)
· Format – The club will be concentrating on Touch Rugby League but will aim to move to tackling towards the end of the programme if the standard of the group is deemed suitable
· Costs – Free for all Leckhampton Rovers players to try this summer!
· Future Plans – The Club aims to follow up this pilot by launching a new club for summer 2016. The name of the club will be decided by the young people taking part in this coaching
· All Coaching will be undertaken by UKCC Level 2 qualified and licenced DBS Coaches
