Cheltenham Triathlon - 9th September 2012

The Cheltenham Triathlon is a great event that takes place at the Sandford Park Lido and is for competitors aged 17 and above who enjoy a personal or team challenge. The event is managed in partnership with Sandford Lido Ltd (Registered charity #1052203) and the Leukaemia and Intensive Chemotherapy Fund (LINC) (Registered charity #1078183).

The race starts in waves between 7am and 10am and costs £27.00 to enter. The race distances are 500m swim, 15km bike and a 2.7km run with maps available on their website. You can see the entry form here.

There is a team event, with teams comprising of 6 members to be eligible for the team competition. In an event where all shapes, sizes and abilities take part and the distances are not too great this really is a great environment to try something like triathlon. There is always a great atmosphere after the race too with teas, coffes and bacon sandwiches being wolfed down.

It would be great if LRFC could enter a team this year, I did it last year and know that Mark Lawrence did too - there must have been others! If you'd like to join in with an LRFC team please contact me urgently as this is an event that fills up very quickly.

If you'd like to be part of the LRFC-Tri-Team please contact me by 25/02 so i can co-ordinate entry forms and get us in. If you'd like to try but are daunted by the training then don't be - this is also something i can help you with. Look at the finish times of participants there's a complete range there and nothing to be frightened of.
