A Howling Success - LRFC Comedy Night

A cold evening last Friday (10th February) saw our LRFC Fundraising comedy night finally come to fruition. With lots of hard work and the power of grey skull from our leader Shera, the event was a sell-out.   With beer (and fruit based drinks for the ladies) flowing and everyone in good spirits, we took our seats to welcome Danny Ward, our compere for the evening, to get the crowd warmed up.      George Egg, took to the stage as the opening act of the night with a suitcase full of props.  George was greeted by the crowd with raucous laughter from the outset and plenty of parents with bladders like space hoppers avoiding the long journey to the loo for fear of being ribbed.   And finally, known for being as sharp and versatile as a Swiss army knife, the crowd welcomed the main act Rob Deering who did not disappoint and played a blinder, hilarious as ever.  With musical based comedy and his faithful “Guitar”, Rob interacted with the audience with ease, delivering seamless comedy with the crowd joining in, many with tears rolling down their cheeks.    A fantastic evening raising a staggering £1,142 for the club and your children – may be an annual fundraiser in the making!   Thanks to everyone who supported the event and special thanks to Howlers Comedy Club, who without their help, this event would not have taken place.  If you have a taste for all things comedy, take a look at howler’s website for up and coming events being held locally.
